Miss Caitie (Director)

I am the proud director/owner of Sunshine & Rainbows, Ms Caitie! Ever since I was young, I knew that my passion was to make a difference for the little people of our world, to give them a voice and to let them be heard. Through that passion, I spent my time in school educating myself on early education and care and human services, graduating as the first class of Sunshine & Rainbows on the start of that journey.

After graduating college and traveling around the world, I opened an infant/toddler program. When my mother, founder of Sunshine & Rainbows was ready to retire in 2007, it was my turn to take it from there. Seeing children come into their own has always been a wonder to me. Watching them develop their personalities and them allowing me to be a part of their discoveries are the greatest gifts!

My husband, Mr. Caitie (Carl) is a DY high school, science teacher. Together we have 3 pretty amazing children that bring us so much joy (Sophia, Camille and Grayson)!  We love to travel, camp, go to the beach, hike and be together. I am a big reader, too! I love mint chocolate chip ice cream and my favorite color is yellow, just like the sun!

Ms. Gerri (Junior Kindergarten)

Hello, my name is Ms Gerri and I am one of the Junior Kindergarten (JK) teachers here at Sunshine & Rainbows.  I have four years’ experience working in early education and eight working with children in general.  Prior to Sunshine & Rainbows I was a substitute teacher for grades K-3.  During those years, I realized how much I enjoyed teaching the Kindergarten students.  It always made me so happy to see them make a connection with something I was teaching and how proud they were of their work.  I am dedicated to the social and emotional development of every child and make it my goal to make sure they receive the best care while having lots of fun.  I am known to be silly and think there is no better sound than that of children laughing.

A few fun facts about me:

1. My favorite color is yellow.  It is a bright and happy color!

2. My favorite ice cream is Coffee Heath Bar.

3. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family.  I have two children, Tanner & Brooke.  We love to take our dog, Duncan, for walks around our neighborhood and ride our bikes on the bike path.  I also enjoy family movie nights when we all snuggle on the couch with some hot, buttery popcorn.

Ms. Marlen (Preschool)

Hi, I’m Ms Marlen! I am from Sunny San Diego and am fairly new to the Cape. So far, I love it! I attended Cape Cod Community College and received my EEC Certification. During the summer of 2019, I had the wonderful opportunity to join Sunshine and Rainbows and could not be happier to be part of this family. I love everything about this place! My goal is to continue to develop my skills and education in this field to further help the children thrive. Working with kids is incredibly rewarding! They are so fun to be around and to play with. I absolutely love seeing their wonderment every day along with their zest for life. My favorite ice cream is Strawberry! I love all the colors of paint mixed together- black! When I’m not teaching, I like to run, do yoga, and spend time with my two amazing boys, Noah and Ben.

Ms. Biz (Preschool)

My name is Ms. Biz. I have been teaching at sunshine and rainbows for 10 years! Time flies when you're having fun! I'm married to Mr. Pat, and we have two kids. We have a son named Mac, and a brand new baby girl named Florence. What I love most about teaching is when I get to see the excitement on the kids faces when they learn something new or try something that they've learned. My favorite kind of ice cream is pistachio. I love the color blue. When I'm not teaching, I love to spend time with my family, listen to music and do art! 

Ms. Jen (Junior Kindergarten)

Ms. Barbara (Substitute)

I’m Ms Barbara! I have been working as a substitute teacher for the last two years at Sunshine and Rainbows which I enjoy tremendously! I live in Harwich and am a mom of four children. My husband and I own a local business. I have always loved being around and interacting with children. I enjoy their spontaneity and innocence…and they always make me laugh!

I LOVE ice cream so it’s hard to say a favorite! But probably Harwich Mud Pie from Schoolhouse Ice Cream! My favorite color is yellow! In my free time I like to garden, read, spend time at the beach and travel!

Hi, I’m Huxley! I love it when me and my mom, Ms Caitie go to school! The kids at Sunshine and Rainbows LOVE me! I know that because of all the nice smiles and pats they give me! My favorite part of my day is circle time when I get to sit with the kids and listen to stories. I’m super soft and fluffy and have curly hair like my mom!

When I’m not at school with all my friends, I like going for long walks with my family. I don’t know what my favorite ice cream is because I’m not sure what that is? But I sure do like doggy treats!

Hi Families! My name is Miss Erin. I am so excited to be a part of the Sunshine and Rainbows family. I am one of the Infant/ Toddler teachers and absolutely love teaching and playing with this age group! 

My husband and I have lived on the Cape for over 25 years and have raised our three daughters here. I have 2 little dogs, Elroy & Duke, who love to snuggle all the time. I love ballet and yoga, and I have just learned how to kayak!! My favorite colors are pink & navy blue. My favorite ice cream flavor is Pleasant Bay Peanut Butter from CC Creamery, and.my favorite snack is popcorn.

I look forward to getting know all of your children, helping them learn and grow, while I continue to learn and grow as their teacher

I have been teaching young children for over 20 years. I am EEC certified to work with infant/toddler and preschool aged children. I am very excited to join the Sunshine and Rainbows early learning center family.

My favorite thing as a teacher is watching children grow and learn. I love the pride and joy each child experiences when they make a new friend or master a new task. I am dedicated to providing a nurturing classroom for every child I work with. I love children’s literature and am always excited to share one of my favorite books. I can never read the same book too many times.

I live in Yarmouthport with my husband. We have two daughters that are attending college, and a two year old puppy. I love our Boston sports teams. I enjoy walks on the beach, hiking and reading. My favorite color is blue and I love chocolate chip ice cream.

Hi! I'm Ms. Emily.  I am a new teacher here, but not new to the Sunshine and Rainbows family.  My husband, Mr. Jay, was among the first graduating class along with Ms. Caitie, I won't say how long ago...  and our 2 children; Sienna and Andrew are also S&R graduates.  We have so many amazing memories from their time here, and I couldn't be more grateful for their early education experiences!   And now, I am so fortunate and happy to be back working in this amazing environment of families, teachers and children.  

 I have always loved teaching and working with kids! After college I lived in Colorado for 10 years and worked as a ski instructor, swimming instructor, and Adaptive Sports guide with youth ages 3 to 16.  Since 2008 I have worked part time as a personal trainer and fitness instructor.  Most recently, I worked at a local high school as a special education assistant for 2 years, but have always truly enjoyed working with the younger children. I love their innocence & simplicity. I love their raw energy and pure excitement for learning, and I love that they make me laugh everyday!   

 When I am not at school I enjoy spending as much time as I can with my husband, children and our 2 dogs; we love to ski, mountain bike, hike, boat, anything outdoors, and I love to watch my kids play sports. They bring so much joy to our lives and they grow up way too fast!! 

My favorite color is orange: energy & happiness.  I don't eat ice cream, but I do love chocolate!

Hi! My name is Ms. Christie! I love being a member of the Sunshine & Rainbows family. I am a Cape Cod native and live in Yarmouth Port with my wonderful family! I am a mother of 4 beautiful children ranging from ages 7 to 18 years old. I have worked at Station Ave elementary as a duty assistant and just loved being with kindergarten children. Just seeing their little eyes light up learning new things and helping to expand their emotional growth drives me. I am currently gettin my Early Education and Care certification and plan on expanding my knowledge and skills here at Sunshine & Rainbows. I love spending my summers boating with my family and the winters up North at our family cabin. My favorite holiday is the Fourth of July because I love seeing all of the beautiful fireworks over the bayside of Cape Cod! I look forward to tons of laughter, learning and new adventures at Sunshine & Rainbows!

Hi Sunshine and Rainbows community. I’m Ms. Christina; I am so excited to be part of the Sunshine & Rainbows team of teachers. 

I am a native (local) Cape Codder that is now raising my own family in the special place we are so lucky to call home. I have four children, which include a set of twins! I am so thankful, my youngest and I get to go to school together.

My entire career has been working with children, in one capacity or another. After college I taught preschool along with being a recreational therapist. I was then a full-time children’s camp director for many years and have returned to preschool in recent years. I am passionate about helping children learn and grow. 

My favorite color is hydrangea blue. I am a big fan of ice cream, so picking just one favorite flavor is so hard, but I’ll say smugglers Cookie Monster and all things mint chocolate chip.
